When I first faced the Swine boss, I did the same, though I didn't oneshot the little guy. It just depends on the player if they will do something with that new information or not. You can't run when your whole party is stunned and dead. I congratulated myself for giving my Hellion Iron Swan, and one-shot the little guy. the first time I met the Swine boss, I saw that there was a little dude who appeared to be doubling his damage (via Marks) but didn't have much HP. You can always run from a fight and most bosses have gimmicks that players can pick up easily. Self-spoilers sound stupid, but it's one or the other. If you really don't like auto-failure encounters, you can read up on the game and, armed with that knowledge, you'll be able to avoid the automatic losses. I personally don't think it's good design, but some people like it. The only way to survive some encounters is to know what the "catch" is, which requires having been killed by them first.
